How we test glazes

We are just starting out with ceramics, which is why we want to do things honestly and correctly. We first try each glaze on samples – testing how it reacts when fired, how the color changes, and how it works on different surfaces. We are often surprised by how different the result can look from what we expected.

But it's not just about appearance. If ceramics are to come into contact with food, they must be safe for health. That's why we send finished samples for hygiene testing to make sure they meet all the necessary standards.

This is a new experience for us and we are learning as we go, but we want everything to be in order before we start selling. Keep your fingers crossed - we look forward to showing you the finished pieces soon.
