Mandatory safety pictograms and warnings and what they mean

	General warning symbol
	Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep an eye on candles and never leave them burning unattended.
	Keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and animals.
	Minimum distance between candles: 10 cm When placing multiple candles, maintain a safe distance of at least 10 cm.
	Use a candle holder The pad protects the surface from heat and flowing wax.
	Don't place candles in drafts. Airflow can cause unstable burning or the candle to tip over.
	Do not expose candles to direct heat or sunlight. Keep candles away from radiators, stoves and direct sunlight.
	Burn only in vertical position Always use candles in an upright position.
	Shorten the wick to about 1 cm before lighting. For safe burning, keep the wick short to reduce smoking and candle overburning.
	Don't place candles in drafts. Airflow can cause unstable burning or the candle to tip over.
	Keep the wax surface clean Remove matches and debris from the melted wax to prevent fire.
	Do not carry a burning candle. Never move a burning candle to avoid accidents.
	Never use liquid to extinguish a fire.

The ČSN EN 15494 standard sets out rules for the safe use of candles intended for burning indoors.
